The Problem

The main goal is to encourage students to stay in school whether they stay at a specific school or start at a new one. Retention Rates are an issue at many schools all over, but what happens is a lot of students who attend small schools in small towns get lost in the idea that their school will not offer them the college experience that they hoped to gain. What needs to happen is that these students need to gain the will to be more proactive in paving their lives and place what's really important to their future at the top of their priority lists.

Plan of Action

My plan is to raise money to once again offer this event to all students at my university, not just minority students, free of charge. Taking students to a place where they can better come together, learn about each other, and come up with proposals to take back to school to better address the students needs. If the students needs are out in the open and places in the hands of school officials, then the school could potentially become a more welcoming atmosphere for students to stay and evolve in overtime.
