Miss Manchester Fire Prevention Queen

the problem:

This year I was crowned Miss Manchester Fire Prevention Queen. As Miss Manchester I am responsible for raising money for the Manchester Volunteer Fire Department as well as bringing awareness to the Manchester area about fire safety and prevention. So far in my reign, I have visited local daycares and Manchester Elementary School to help teach children about how they can make their homes more fire safe. They had the opportunity to learn to not play with matches, how to plan an escape route, and when to change the batteries in their smoke detectors. Also as Queen, I have had the opportunity to plan many fundraisers for the fire department as well. I have had many bake sales at a local grocery store in town to raise some base funds. As the main fundaraiser of the year, I was able to plan a Longaberger Basket Bingo. Thanks to the many sponsors, we were able to have a great success. We sold out of many of the tickets and we were so full in the building we were very close to hitting the fire code! This is only the begininning of my year and I have many more fundraisers planned and hope to hit a new record for the fire queens and my new goal for the year of $10000 to help pay the bill of a new fire engine the station just bought. Thank you for this opportunity!
