The Problem

We are contributing to eliminating poverty in the country of the Philippines. The Philippine community has many areas which are very poor and have rising numbers of children and teens involved in crimes. By being in Gawad Kalinga, we are trying to provide the poor with homes to live in and begin a new and happy life.

Plan of Action

We as a youth group have made an unbelievable impact on many Filipino families just by staying in a GK village for a couple weeks and helping build and paint a row of homes. These homes would be given to people who helped construct them also, whose homes might have been taken away from the government.
