The Problem
The problem we are continuously trying to solve through Mission Service Project is making a better home for those who are not able to do so for themselves. This year was particularly different because it was focused around disaster relief homes.
Why It's Important
Mission Service Project is extremely important to me because it's a life changing experience. The appreciation from the family you're serving is so strong, you begin to notice it's not only the family benefiting from this, but also you yourself.
The Plan Of Action
What we do is form teams. Each team is assigned a family/house that has applied for "help". We then spend a whole week, starting at 7 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon eacho day repairing the focused area of work. The following tasks are examples of work that have been done by different teams: Roofing Repairs & Re-roofing, Construction of Steps,Hanging Doors, Installing or Repairing Window Screens, Sheet Rocking, Room Additions, Simple Electrical Repair or Wiring, Interior and Exterior Painting, Repairs to Siding
