The Problem

After Katrina hit the gulf coast a group of us from the youth group took a week and a half to join Camp Coast Care in the effort to rebuild the small community of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.

Plan of Action

We worked everyday from 7 in the morning to about 6:30 only taking a lunch break. My group was deeply invovled with cleanup around one man's yard. His house was right on the coast and his wife had just died and his son had passed away only a few years earlier. He had also just lost his job. Working to help him was what made me love mission work. What we had done was very small in the grand scheme of things, but the impact it made on his life was too immense for words. He cried the day we left.
