The Problem

I am from a small community where everyone is pretty close. It has been a while since we lost any kids in a car accident. I want to keep it that way. For my senior project I created a mock crash in our school parking lot. The scenario I created involved two vehicles with three kids in each vehicle. I am trying to bring light on the huge problem of drinking and driving along with not wearing your seatbelt.

Plan of Action

It took me a total of six months to create this project. There were many steps involved. First I had to get my project approved by my high school principal. From there I had to ask the help of medical personnel in the community. I also had to contact people outside of the community, such as the speaker I hired to speak while the scenario was being set up outside. I wrote letters and made phone calls to everyone involved asking for their help and after the project was complete I wrote thank you letters to them all. This project was a secret to the student body. The only students that knew about the project was the six kids I used in the project. Those students didn't even know about it until three days before the project itself.
