The Problem

As puppy mill dogs get rescued, the current rescue organizations are overflowing with dogs in need. More organizations and initiatives are needed with the objectives to rescue and rehabilitate rescued dogs, but to go further with community education and action.

Plan of Action

I am starting a nonprofit with three objectives: rescue and rehabilitate individual dogs, advocate and educate for social change around dog breeding and animal rights, and provide mutually beneficial relationship building between people and dogs through service learning opportunities. For this particular project, I hope to do some fundraising for the cause. My students and I will organize a 5K race, with proceeds going toward the nonprofit's initiative to rescue puppy mill dogs.
