Munchies for Marines

the problem:
Our club baked desert-proof cookies and brownies for a Marine unit in Iraq. We wanted the men and women who are deployed from our area to feel connected to home. We are committed to letting these men and women know, that regardless of our political affiliation, we are supporting them

How did you make "desert-proof" cookies?? This sounds interesting. I am highly interested in baking and you've caught my interest!!
1 1/2 c flour
1 c cocoa
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp slat
2/3 c butter flavored vegetable shortening-NOT BUTTER!
2 c granulated sugar
4 eggs
2 c Nestle Toll House white chips
preheat oven 350
Grease 13x 9 inch pan
combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in small bowl.
Beat shortening, sugar and eggs in large bowl beat until creamy.
Add flour mixture.
Stir in morsels.
Pour in baking pan.
Bake 25-30 minutes
cool, cut into squares
wrap in foil and then in plastic wrap or a Seal-a-meal
