i am new to do something, i heard about it through a friend but my area is working with teens who are drug abusers or also who use cutting as a form of release and i have to say it is so sad to see how many people now just have no idea what else to do but turn to horrible things to relieve pain, fit in, feel good about themselves, you name it. i think the best remedy is someone standing up and showing them there are other possibilities, but also comforting those who are stuck and addicted and want to be free from addictions. i volunteered at a shelter once and all the kids wanted was other people their age to hang out with them and not judge them for their differences...in other words, they just wanted to know what love was. i think that is what is lacking. you should check out twloha.com for inspiration!
