The Problem

The Nagarote-Wesleyan Partnership is a student run group that seeks to rethink international service in non-paternalistic ways and build a lasting partnership with the Nagarote community in Nicaragua. Our group's mission is: · To plan, fundraise for, and to participate in service activities in partnership with the community of Nagarote, Nicaragua and the Norwalk/Nagarote SisterCity Project. · To offer tangible material assistance in a non-paternalistic way based on the needs expressed by the Nagarote community. · To develop a greater sense of social responsibility through experiences in Nagarote. To become more aware of global issues and ultimately to return to Wesleyan to continue the conversation of these issues with the Wesleyan community.

Plan of Action

Every year we hope to send a group of Wesleyan students to work with the Nagarote community to build a lasting relationship that is centered on meaningful exchange of knowledge and resources.
