The Problem

Every year, 65,000 undocumented students graduate from High School to a DREAM deferred. They are valedictorians, star-athletes, and could be your best friend. My people, the new generation of immigrants suffer the discrepancies and indifference of being labeled “illegals”. They are hardworking Americans who value and contribute to the quilt of America. Nevertheless, there is not a day in which abuse towards them does not occur. There is not a day in which they are denied the opportunity to live under the protection of the laws and equality and demonstrate on paper that they are as American as their contributions to this nation.

Plan of Action

NEW JERSEY DREAM ACT COALITION Vision To provide a gateway for immigrant youth to achieve their full potential regardless of immigration status Mission We, the New Jersey DREAM Act Coalition, are a statewide immigrant youth-led organization committed to organizing and empowering youth by providing social, political, and emotional support. Through leadership development we are devoted to providing a voice and a human face behind our struggles and challenges. In this capacity, we strive to offer the resources needed to ensure equal access to higher education while enabling youth to become advocates for social change in their communities.
