The Problem

The main purpose of NextDoor's Summer Youth Leadership Program was to spread awareness about the issues of domestic and teen dating violence around the world, starting with the San Jose community. We wanted to educate people on healthy and unhealthy relationships so they could make the best decisions for themselves.

Plan of Action

I was trained for 10 weeks and with all the knowledge that NextDoor has taught me, I will carry them on to my community. From the program, all of the youth leaders and I have created a survey and administered it out to 100 youths in the San Jose community. We have came to many conclusions and made statistics from this survey, and we will use in our future presentations. I am also planning to join the City of San José’s 13th Annual Walk to End Domestic Violence on October 8th, 2010.
