The Problem

No Vehicle Idling Inc. is trying to stop the growing problem of idling in the world. Running the engine while the vehicle is not moving is called idling. Running your engine when not in use emits harmful gasses including Carbon Dioxide and Carbon Monoxide. These gasses can cause serious health concerns, such as lung disease and asthma to both children and adults. Children are more susceptible to the dangers of idling since their body is still growing and the fact that they are closer to the ground. Idling is not only harmful to people’s health, it is also very costly. The cost of idling your vehicle for 10 minutes every morning can add up. You can use up to 0.7 gallons of gasoline for every 10 minutes, which costs us about 2 dollars and 10 cents. Idling for 10 minutes a day for a year will cost over 760 dollars! This adds up to about 13 pounds of Carbon Dioxide for those 10 minutes. Many people idle in the morning, at the ATM, at the drive-through for lunch, then waiting to pick the kids up from school. How long do you idle each day, each week, and each year? And remember, millions of motorists have fallen into the idling trap.

Plan of Action

Our plan is to slowly build awareness through free seminars and educate the public about the harmful effects of idling. We also hope to purchase "No Idling" Signs and place them in places where idling occurs the most often such as schools and libraries.
