On February 8, 2014, I will coordinate the 4th NHS Blue Devils Run. Last year, my committee and I raised over $10,000 (over 40% more than the previous year) with 339 participants. For 2014, I hope to increase the race to 500 participants and $15,000 in profits. I have formed a new committee with adults and students (first meeting in October). Over the summer, I helped develop a new logo and updated the website, fb page, active.com, registration/sponsorship forms. Through letters and in person solicitations, I have thus far raised $2,000 and secured items for our raffle. I have met with various members of the running community (New Balance, YMCA, running stores) to advertise the race. I will be meeting with a USATF to have the course certified for the Peachtree Road Race. The committee and I will start sending press releases out to local and major publications. This year, we will change timing companies so I am scheduling meetings with several of these. Other action items: securing permits and police for the day of race, getting additional sponsorships and raffle items on weekends, printing and hanging signs, and working with a new t-shirt vendor.
