The Problem
I am hoping to help and encourag Teens to become tobacco free for life. I have teamed up with the American Lung Association and The Governor of ND to help educate teens across ND about tobacco and its harmful effects.

Plan of Action
My first step was to team up with the American Lung Association of ND to help get the information and support I needed to be able to reach teens across ND and educate them on tobacco and its harmful and lasting effects. As I traveled across ND visiting and educating teens on tobacco use and it negative effects I saw first hand the number of teens involved in tobacco use. I realized I needed to step up my game and give kids the day to stand strong and begin their fight for a tobacco free tomorrow.
I next contacted the Governor of my home state of ND and asked him if he would like to join me in my fight against teen tobacco use in our State. I asked Governor Hoeven if he would proclaim a day for teens across ND to become and remain tobacco free~ for life. I felt if we could give kids a day and or a goal for themselves, I felt we could help hundreds of teen. After several meetings I was able to convince Governer John Hoeven to proclaim a day for all teens to be and remain tobacco free for life. I am proud to say with my encouragement, November 10th, 2010 was proclaimed as ND's First ever Teen Tobacco Free Day! I was able to reach out to teens through schools, radio, television and other media to get the word out about "Teen Tobacco Free Day" and encourgae everyone to participate. I was able to help many, many teens become and hopefully stay tobacco free for a healthier tomorrow.
