OK Green Project Documentary
the problem:
One of the most influential ways to make a lasting impression is through visual aid. This is why my friends and I would like to make a documentary to promote awareness within our community. Awareness of what?
Awareness of our addiction to foreign oil and the pollution it creates. The resources we are abusing. The plastic bottles we consume that are now located in a trash can, or even worse, on the side of the road.
We will capture, on film, the problems caused by not recycling. The problems caused by using fossil fuels as a main energy source. The problems caused by not using cleaner sources.
Oklahoma's recycling program is almost non-existent. Our trash lines sides of the roads, floats down the rivers, and sits in land fills creating methane gas. By recycling, we can help make Oklahoma beautiful and reduce waste.
We can also look to use better sources of energy, such as the wind. Afterall, Oklahoma City is the real windy city.
Through this project, we will help people realize what we're actually doing to our Earth.
After filming, we will show the film to sponsors. After getting enough sponsors, we will get a venue and have an awareness concert. At the concert, local bands will perform and we will show bits of the documentary. All the money made from the tickets and from donations will go to an organization that strives to improve Oklahoma's recycling program.
We will also have recycling bins at the concert where people can bring their plastic, glass, paper, electronics, and other recyclable materials to throw in.
Through the collaborative efforts of local business, artists, musicians and students, we will showcase all of Oklahoma's natural splendor and pulse, while making a profound impact upon our state's future. This state has tremendous potential and it would be a true crime to let it rot away.
