Omaha Carbon Conference
the problem:
Raising Awareness about Environmentalism in Omaha, and to show all the programs going on at high schools. I would also like to show things that the City could do to make the air cleaner. So the problem I'm trying to solve is the lack of green awareness in the city. The state of Nebraska is very conservative, We need to do as much as we can to really push people towards doing something green, If that means giving people the truly hard hitting facts about global warming, then that’s what we must to do. I would like to make this conference big and a celebration. A celebration of knowing that their are things we can do, and that we don’t have to just sit there and do nothing, that we can do something.

I consider myself an environmentalist and I feel that I'm doing as much as I can possibly do, i feel that at this point I need to help other people see what's actually going on in our atmosphere.
the plan of action:
I go to Westside High School in Omaha, and we have a club called Living Green which I'm currently in. I would like to use the help of the club and the rest of the school. I would like to get other high schools around the metro area involved, as well as scientists in the area that specialize in the environment to come and present what information they know at the conference. As well as exhibitors who make or sell green products and solutions, to raise awareness about what we as individuals can do. I want to focus on the affordability side of this, Omahans are frugal people, and if we can show people that you can be green and save money, people will be a lot more willing to do something.
