See It

This is a project I've just recently started in my community. I currently live oversees in Sicily due to my step-father's stationing in the NAVY. Until very recently, I had been feeling so frustrated with myself that so much is going on in the world that I wish I could help to change but felt that being oversees somehow prevented me from doing so. Just a couple days ago, I was reading "The Irresistible Revolution" and felt so impacted as I read the words of this brilliant man who devoted his life to helping others. It was then I realized any human has the potential to change the world for the better by simply making small changes that may even only affect only a couple of individuals. I had my brief epiphany and right then, my project, "One Step at a Time" came to me. I was tired of simply discussing the problems in our world. I decided to instead put my thoughts into action. As of now, we have several small projects in mind. We first want to start a gift drive which would include toys, clothes, shoes, treats and so on. We would categorize such items and give them accordingly to some designated orphanages that we've selected out in the economy. We thought this would be the perfect way to spend the holidays. I also have in mind a couple Comedy Nights and Talent Shows that we can put together to raise money for various organizations. We have such a passionate and loving group of people who are so hungry for change in our world. This is a new project and we plan to begin as soon as next week by implementing our ideas and getting started. I hope to eventually, carry this over to the US once I return next June so we can continue helping. We hope that through our project, we may do our part to restore our world to the beautiful, harmonious place it was meant to be.
