Green Teen is starting environmental clubs across the nation!
Hi, my name is Kristen Powers. My goal for this project is to successfully run a Global Warming awareness club across my county. With any luck, I can do it across North Carolina too. In my club, we will learn ways to make our lives more "green" at home, school, anywhere! However, our first project is to start a recycling program in our school. You can be part of Green Teens too! Start a Global Warming awareness club at your school! Just talk to your school conselor about starting a new club and find a trustworthy adult to be the advisor! I will post more as my own club is created. Read the update section for more info!!
Long Term Projects:
1) We are in the process of starting a recycling program in our school for paper.
2) We are trying to find someone to make a more detailed website for us with an interactive map where you can see if there are any clubs near you.
3) Green Teen is in the process of recruting more members. We are also trying to start Green Teen clubs in other states. We will also be looking for businesses who can help us advertise.
WE HAVE A WEBSITE!!!! PLEASE VISIT THIS SITE AND E-MAIL IT TO YOUR FRIENDS:

Long Term Projects:
1) We are in the process of starting a recycling program in our school for paper.
2)Kristen Powers is in the process of building a basic website and hopefully it will be published by the end of the year.
3) Green Teen is in the process of recruting more members. We are also trying to start Green Teen clubs in other states. We will also be looking for businesses who can help us advertise.
4) YMCA Green Teen is working on strategic planning for the 08-09 school year. We are planning out how we can improve the club and recruit more members. This will involve planning the projects for the next year.
5) The CHC YMCA has created their calendar for the next school year, which will hopefully be posted on the site soon. We are also working on opening ice cream socials to gather more attention to the club.
6) Our new middle school leader, Fiona, is going to head a new recycling program at the school that will hopefull involve all grades.
7) Start Green Teen clubs for every level at McDougle Middle School, where the original Green Teen was located.
8) We are also creating business action plans that will hopefully get local businesses to put more enviornmentally friendly practices into effect. This includes trying to get the local Staples to offer a recycled paper printer at the store.
