Operation Patriotism
the problem:
In doing this project I hope to bring patriotism back to my community. After we first went to war, the whole country happily displayed yellow ribbons, and tried their hardest to support our troops. Now, six years later, I feel like that patriotism has diminsihed.

3why it's important:
I am the daughter of a veteran, my great grandfathers both fought in WW2 and I want to have people feel the same respect for their contribution to our country as I do.
the plan of action:
First, I put up fliers about what I wanted to do around my community. then I asked local businesses if I could set up either a jar or a box for item or money donations. From there I spoke to the local newspaper and had an article done on my project, and held a dinner at a sports bar to raise funds. I live in an ideal town to do a project such as this. Lake Geneva is a huge tourist attraction and people come from all over the state and world to bisit.
how you can get involved:
Put the yellow ribbons around the trees again. Don't turn the channel when the news tells you that x amount of soldiers were killed today. Say a prayer for them; give a moment of silence. Anyone can write letters, and there are plenty of places all over that would love donations for care packages. Anything that shows your support of our troops helps.
