I organized, and executed, a book drive to collect as much literature as possible for the Pontiac library. The book drive will consisted mainly on the door-to-door collection of books through the local subdivision in Rochester Hills, Michigan. As the leader of the entire drive, I organized and directed multiple squads, each led by a squad leader, to do all the collection and distribution. I organized routes and the squads first give flyers out to the homes in the subdivision. Then I published an announcement in the subdivision newsletter to inform them of my drive, so they could begin collecting books beforehand. Posters were placed near the entrance of the neighborhood. After the flyers had been distributed, new squads returned to the subdivision a week later to collect as many books as possible. The books were sorted initially by basic genre and then loaded into vans and driven to the library where they were unloaded by the squad members. After the drive was completed, the project led to the donation of over 4000 books to the under-supported local library.
