Through a series of concerts ranging from rock music to jazz and everything in between use the concerts as a mean of music appreciation. Raise money through the concerts to be donated to the music programs of schools. Also, concerts for younger students to educate them of music and gain an awareness of band. Take older high school students to set up "work shops" to work one on one with youth to help them gain an interest in music. Not only this but high school bands should engage in community service projects to make themselves more know to the community, thus gaining support which is much needed. Hopefully, through all of these actions youth will gain an interest in band helping to strengthen the program. Also, I hope with these actions that the communities everywhere will be more supportive, giving band the much needed funding to help continue music education.
