Our school is currently working on creating a large outdoor learning center trhat will be 50 feet by 50 feet large. It will be used to teach science, biology and many other purposes.
It is being designed using native plants, micro-irrigation, and the capture of runoff water. we are also trying to include solar energy for night time lighting.
It will be a beautiful area with some of it shaded by trees and other parts available for morning and afternoon sun.
One large corner will be used for a butterfly garden and will have butterfloy nesting houses.
I would like for our students to be able to studt the life cycle of butterflies by building a butterfly raising screenhouse close to the garden.
This would be a great teaching and learning experience for all of our elementary school that has over 700 students.
