The Problem

The Virginia Gallian Child Development Center, an employee child care center for Denton Independent School District, is in need of an outdoor learing environment. I am wanting to create an environment for the children in care at the center to be able to use nature to explore and learn.

Plan of Action

I am planning on building a natural exploration area in each of our three playground areas. I hope to create a vegetable garden, plant trees, build natural instruments, create sensory opportunities with water pumps and flow tubs, build pulley systems, have spaces for natural art exploration, and build a solar cooker. I have had trees donated by our local garden club and am working on raising funds to purchase materials needed to create the rest of the supplies.
