Peace for Life

Global Security depends on peace. Peace depends on people everywhere to be able to establish a culture of non-violence. The Noble Peace prize Laureates signed a declaration, declaring the decade of 2000 to 2010 a decade of peace and non-violence. One of the main reasons that many of the issues that plague our Global community are not ended or solved is because we are constantly encountering violence and hate. Once we eliminate violence and hate we can then solve and help the endless issues that are occurring today. However, I believe we have been far from such a peaceful decade. I believe war brings temporary peace while voluntary peace brings long lasting effects. Therefore I am starting the organization Peace for Life. Through education, awareness, and activities we are able to outreach to the public. However, the first phase of my project is to recruit members and have our trust counselor teach us about conflict and resolution and as well how to more efficiently help others. We all have the ability to help others we just do no know how and we can not achieve global peace unless people are peace with them selves, then their family, then school, community, state, country , and then the world. I plan to offer our services to them, also I am planning to have workshops on anti-bulling, anti-violence, education on peace and what they can do to help. These workshops will be provided to students that sign up and as well by teacher referrals. In addition, I plan to have a booth where people can learn more about through educational media( pamphlets flyers ect…). People can sign the pledge and take the oath for peace. I plan to conduct a general assembly in order to get the word out on anti-violence and peace. Once my members and I have created as solid foundation in our quest for peace I plan to plant a tree of peace with in our school and place a plaque in front to remind us of our unity of peace in our school and our never ending efforts to reach out to the rest of the world. Also, I plan to outreach to the community by contacting important leaders of our community, writing to members of congress, holding peace rallies and any other activity or idea that comes to mind in order to better get across our message of peace. I am also planning to attend the a meeting in which all the trust counselors will be form different schools and present to the Peace for Life and encourage them to start one in their school. In Conclusion, Peace for Life will be an ongoing effort in which will be passed down to the next person in order to continue our quest for peace. Once Global peace is established then Global security is established and once we’ve done that we can then more efficiently attack the issues which plague our Global community today. Peace for Life is 100% youth created, directed, and organized . Currently I have 15 young people involved in the project with an anticipated 20-30 more. The project will ultimately affect the whole school so about 2000 young people and the we are pushing for the whole community and beyond. I do plan to work in collaboration with the Melissa Institute, Jewish Community Services, the Switch Board of Miami Inc., and project YES. These groups are aimed at ending violence and bullying in school as well as other issues. They will be sending guest speakers to the workshops.
