The community of which we are in is called Okeechobee, FLorida. It's a small and quite community. Children here do not have anything contstructive to do. Forward Bound Youth Service Center will be the first youth program in this county. Our teens are amongs the top ranking children who are at risk of drug and alcohol use in the State of Florida at 60.4 % of our kids being at risk for these types and other risky behaviors. Teen pregenacy is on the rise and teenage deliquency. The programs goals is to introduce children to more construcitive and appropriate behaviors in dealing with their behavior and given them the ability to develop self sufficent career goals. Each part of the program is based on a core life skill of career interests of the children.

We give the children oppurtunties to interact within multicultural groups and peer makeups. We furnish the tools, materials,resources, guidance, and equipment for youth to develop the life skill tools they need for their future goals. We assist older teens in selecting colleges and funding resources for them.

Because our fees are based on the total families income and fees for participanting can range from 10.00 to 100.00 a week we require alot of outside assitance to keep the program operating to assit our kids. So we'd like to know if you could assist our programs. This is a year round program.
