The Problem

With the community, music is rather frowned upon against everything else, (sports, academics, etc.,). Music is something that is a huge part of our school however, it is a long lasting tradition of 60 years that have been dedicated to concert band and traditional highland Scottish music. Lately, since there has been a lack of support, there is conflict with people and the music program, if this were to continue (more so than the current condition that participation is in) --the program would have to be removed entirely.

Plan of Action

I have been teaching Pipes and Drums for 4 years and this will be my last year as the head student of the program, I have been teaching a Freshman how to manage the class so she can take over my postition starting next year. I have had the incredible chance to study under proffesional bagpipers from all over the world for two consecutive years, and I wish to award her with the same advantage that I have had. My summer project was a music camp that was extremely successful with the community, and it was able to raise $350 which is coincidentally enough money to pay for the tuition of the proffesional piping camp. She plans to attend and study, and take the position as head student for next year. I am hopeful that she will be able to interest younger students as I have with my project and direct their attention towards music.
