The Problem

Here in our area of the Smokies we have no play areas for our children. We are the "gateway" to the Smokies National Park from our end, and we have no child friendly facilities. The nearest playground is 15 mi in the next town. We have 3 schools, PreK-12 in our small area that serve over 1,000 children, with no appropriate play facilty. Idle hands lead to increased vandalism & tresspassing, lets give them somewhere to play and get rid of some of that uncontainable energy!

Plan of Action

I have started planning & development committees and we are in the process of completeing a project plan. We have viable location options and fundraising ideas we are putting in motion. We have been busy gathering information and preparing to launch our Playin' in the Smokies Campaign. And don't forget recruiting volunteers we are up to 12 just in the development stages.
