Pledge to Try Veg!

the problem:

The Pledge to Try Veg! Rally started in May 2006 as a bet between friends to see if those who ate meat could last even two days without consuming meat. We have decided to make this an annual event, and to focus more on other aspects to educate others. Vegetarianism is about more than just eating meat, it's a lifestyle choice concerning many hot issues, pollution (factory farms pollute water, air and land); conservation (forests are sometimes cut down to build farms, the land becomes exhausted from constant use. Water pollutants kill lake, ocean, and river inhabitants); obesity rates are high due to meat and over processed food consumption; hormones, chemicals, and drugs ingested by the body; and so many other things. A vegetarian diet can be very rewarding, no matter what reason you have to pursue it. The Rally is designed not only to educate people about vegtarianism, but also food and nutrition in general, allowing the public to make better nutrition choices. Are you up for the challenge? How about your friends? Can you abstain from meat May 14 and May 15 2007? email [edited DS Staff] if you have any questions, ideas, or thoughts concerning this project or one you think I might be interested in.
