Poetry for Change [In Africa] SUBMIT POEMS!
the problem:
I am trying to work with others to solve the countless problems that have been plaguing Africa in respect to AIDS, violence, civil unrest, starvation, lack of health care and sanitation, and poverty. This is done through appropriation of funds to charities that work one on one to make sure these problems are being taken care. Yet even more than this, Poetry for Change[In Africa] seeks to raise awareness about the issues in Africa and help others get involved.

It just doesn't feel right to me that here I can have 24/7 access to food, hospitals, and water. Not to mention all the leisure activities and entertainment available. It just doesn't feel right when others out there are starving and dying. I feel like if the everyone helped more and focsed less on themselves, the world would be alot better of a place.
the plan of action:
Right now, I am currently accepting submissions for the 2009 Poetry for Change[In Africa] book. Submissions have been coming in from all over the globe. The best submissions will be compiled into a poetry book titled: Poetry for Change[In Africa]. The book will then be published and sold on places like barnesandnobles.com and amazon.com. All proceeds go to Africa Aid, a organization that helps get medical devices, education, and food to Africa.
