The Problem

I volunteered at a horse farm in Mahwah, New Jersey. This farm has a program called Pony Power Therapies, which provides therapeutic riding to children with disabilities that would otherwise prevent them from riding. The program includes lessons that take place year round and a camp that is held during the summer. The children not only get to ride, but they also get to learn about farm life. The children get to experience new things thanks to Pony Power.

Plan of Action

I was looking for a way to give back to the community and my younger sister had heard of the program after her school had donated to the farm. I signed up to be a volunteer and went to the instructional meeting where they taught us how to properly stabilize the riders.
