The Problem

This project will benefit the Portland Promise Center and the greater Portland Community. The Portland neighborhood in Louisville, KY is an area of town plagued by poverty. This project, to create the WORLD'S LARGEST ball of tape, will help make Portland a healed land - a place where families flourish and the peace of God is present.

Plan of Action

We plan to have this record beaten by May of 2011. We began at the end of May 2010. According to Guinness Book of World Record's the current record holder has a ball of tape weighing almost 1900 pounds. Our ball right now weighs over 300 pounds. A company in Florida has generously donated over 2000 pounds of tape to us which is more than enough to finish beating the World Record. In order to raise funds for the Portland Promise Center, we have been and will continue to take our tape ball around to various events and offer people the opportunity to help us break the world record. They will be able to make a donation to the Promise Center, then they will be given some tape that they can add to the ball and sign their name to.
