The Problem

I will be volunteering in the summer of 2010 in a desperately poor area in Northern Ethiopia with the Millennium Villages Project (part of the Millennium Promise endeavor to end extreme poverty by 2025). Working with leaders in the villages of Koraro, I will use my degree in Agricultural Systems Management to assist them in bringing clean water to their community.

Plan of Action

My plan of action is to return to Ethiopia as a learner---listening to the local leaders and employing the skills and knowledge I am learning on their behalf. I won't know exactly what is required until I am on the ground in Koraro and understand the situation from the villager's perspective.
