The Problem

I'd like to create a non-governmental organization focusing on the rights of children and assisting those whose rights have been violated. I want to seekout those who have been exploited wheather that may be sexually trafficked, child labor, child soldiers, or in desperate need of poverty alleiviation. I would like to use art therapy as a form of rehabilitation.

Plan of Action

My plan is to attend LIU Global College to create a foundation for my future in International Development. This school allows me to immerse myself in a different culture each year, and obtain a degree in Global Studies. After this education I will have acquired skills and training while abroad. I have already begun networking with major aid organizations and creating partnerships within human rights organizations. I have researched what works and what doesn’t work when establishing an NGO and interned with many in 2007 and 2008. I have always had a passion for art and feel it can really help the children express themselves and have a voice. Eventually I would like to create a facility assisting and rehabilitating children in a country where this type of program is greatly needed.
