Project 20 Jade

the problem:

I started 20 Jade after my peers and I volunteered to give a lecture on environmental chaos at a local middle school. When asked exactly what one could do at such a young age to make a difference, we had no idea…so we looked into it. It stunned us how much one could really do and on what a small scale things need be done. I decided that day to go from living in my own jaded world to living a world that was Jade.
20 Jade is all about the little things. It focuses on 20 small steps we can all take (be ye child, adult, teen, whatever) to help with global warming and energy conservation. These little things, many mentioned on this very DoSomething site, have been coming into public notice more and more, and we want to make sure that people not only hear these suggestions, they act on the. We’re a project that thinks globally, but acts locally, and encourage other branches and/or like projects anywhere and everywhere. We host local events such as student lectures and marathon walks at schools and community centers to encourage action on the 20 steps and beyond.
Beyond ecological preservation, 20 Jade is about taking action: spurring people to act on whatever they’re passionate about and helping them realize how to do that. One is never too young, too old, or too poor to make a difference.
