A team member and I have been seeing many news coverages as well as newspaper articles about the disasterous damage in Galveston, Texas caused by hurricane Ike. Although this hurricane struck land many months ago, many people are still living in shelters without some of their basic essentials, and possibly, without hope. My teammate and I have streched the limits trying to raise and collect these essentials to send to a needing shelter. The name of our project is Project Gave, which stands for Giving Ike Victims Essentials.

Our project and task is to raise money and other essentials to one needing shelter in Galveston, Texas. We are addressing this difficult task by fundraising in different ways, as well as corperal sponserships, and donations. Unfortunately, we have only raised $300 dollars.

It took a lot of time and thought to build up this amazing idea, and we have made many step to raising the essentials. We have planned out and thought about many fundraiser ideas. We have also been impacted by many challenges, such as a shortage of time, and unwillingness from others to help. We are still in progress of collecting, so we have yet to make an impact on the shelter. Although, our communication, and teamwork skills have improved a lot.

Others can help by either donating themselves, spread the word of our project and ask for donations, or by sharing thier thought of how to improve. They could also give ideas for fundraising.
