Project Graduation
the problem:
With high school graduation comes celebrations and all too often these celebrations have a tragic ending involving alcohol and drugs. To prevent this, Project Graduation gives Van Buren High School graduates an option to celebrate in a safe chem-free environment whether it be on a class trip or lock-in.

20why it's important:
This project is important because it helps to give high school graduates a chance to celebrate their acheivements in a safe, chem-free environment. The organization also promotes its message of safe celebrations throughout the year by hosting safe, chem-free school dances at the high school for students (ex. Snow Ball, Gala, Senior Prom).
the plan of action:
Throughout our senior year, the Project Graduation seniors held fundraisers to fund our celebration which was a trip to New York City. Our fundraisers consisted of fun, chem-free events for students at Van Buren High School including parents/teachers vs. students basketball games, golf and tennis tournaments,chem-free dances, beauty pageants and even a walk-a-thon that shared its profits with the local Meals on Wheels chapter.
