The mission of The Josie Odum Morris Literacy Project Inc. is to promote literacy in the Inkster-area by making new books, workshops and reading and writing tutors available and accessible to city residents. We believe that readers become leaders and by developing better readers we build self-esteem, encourage academic and personal growth and empower our community. Since my nonprofit corporation is in the beginning stage, my board of directors and I, have made the decision to start a story time at our local library to establish credibility. The 'Grapevine Story time' will be for children in grades 1st.-3rd.. The story time will take place every Saturday 1:00pm-2:00pm starting Janurary 10, 2008. It will be a year long program.
