The Problem

Hundreds of youth are shot in Chicago every year. Many organizations work to mentor at-risk youth however the most high-risk remain unreached. Project Spitfire reaches and engages this demographic through the use of music.

Plan of Action

We use music to bring attention to the critical issue of youth violence in Chicago by highlighting the talents and stories of those youth that violence most heavily impacts. We are producing a top quality 'stop the violence' album with 15-20 songs from young undiscovered artists representing Chicago's most violent and under-served neighborhoods. Through this process our participants learn about the music industry and entrepreneurial skills, participate in mentoring, and are connected to supportive services.
