The Problem

Morale is low. Project X aims to raise morale; it's what we do. Our main focus is the custodians. We honor and thank them for uncomplainingly doing a thankless job: cleaning up after teenagers. But we also send cards to sick teachers, or any staff member who has a difficulty at home. I am trying to solve the problem of low morale.

Plan of Action

Getting the custodians' faces out their through our school broadcasting show, sending cards to teachers in need, doing projects here and there, like ice-cream socials, getting tickets to shows, getting snacks, and getting Christmas presents for the custodians. A lot of little things that keep the custodians in the kids minds and let the custodians know we appreciate them. So far, we've created a consciousness of community. Less kids are littering to the extent they used to, and the custodians smile and wave to the club members in the hallways. Also, both custodians and staff-members to whom we have sent cards know they have a community backing them.
