The Problem

We are collecting school supplies (and donations to purchase school supplies) which will be donated to Providence Elementary school. Providence Elementary school is about 10 miles from Cosby high School and more than 50% of the students are officially disadvantaged. Many come to school with no supplies and this hurts their ability to learn from the beginning. The principal at providence elementary was thrilled with the idea we have and she will be directing on what the most needed supplies are for her school.

Plan of Action

We have spoken to Ms. Rucker the principal at Providence elementary to confirm that the school was in need and that they wanted to be "adopted" by our club and could use school supplies. We have launched an internet mailing campaign which has already generated a little less than $800 . We will be soliciting further donations of supplies or money for supplies within our neighborhood and general community. We hope to help bring school supplies to at least 20 kids, hopefully more!
