Hello I am Radhika. I have recently posted about keeping the AIR POLLUTION rate low through keeping tires properly inflated. As we can see, it is a very simple idea. I came up with this idea while doing my Change project. I am a freshman and in my school, we have to do a benchmark project regarding environment preservation. I have always had a goal of publicizing the idea of lowering air pollution rate. I want to make this more than just a project and BUILD MORE AWARENESS TOWARD THIS IDEA. I have been assigned a team. There is two more students working with me on this. I have written to local newspapers and they have decided to publish it. I have also done service learning with my team. We have sampled OVER 100 cars in which we tested if the tires of the cars where at correct psi. If it was not we pumped it to the correct psi. The idea consists of keeping tires at proper psi to prevent air pollution. THIS IS HOW>>Global warming is a widely known issue. It is extremely important as individuals we all pay attention to the growing rate if it. Global warming is due to many contributions. One of the biggest ones is Air pollution. Air pollution not only harms the environment, but its harming everything that is living including our own bodies. As individuals, we should know that it is our responsibility to keep our community and environment clean as possible to prevent dangerous incidents, such as cancer and other diseases. I have come up with a simple and an easy way to help. It is KEEPING TIRES AT PROPER PSI. Cars with improper tire pressure can cause the car to drag and need more gas to move. The car will consume more gas and therefore it will cause more air pollution in the environment. The gas mileage of the car will drop and it will also effect the money budget of the owner. It will also add to the RUBBER POLUTION. When tires are not properly, inflated whether it is over or under-inflated it also causes rubber pollution. The mid-tread of the tire starts to wear off when it is over-inflated. This is because the tire bulges in the side and the middle wears out. It is the same for under-inflated tires. The side treads of the tire wear off. We see the benefits of keeping tires properly inflated will definitely create a change in the environment. It will also help the global warming rate decrease. It is a very easy job to do ONCE A MONTH. The psi of cars usualy depend from car to car so to know check your car side door by your driving seat. KEEP IN MIND CAR EMMISIONS IS ONE OF THE BIGEEST CONTRIBUTOR FOR AIR POLLUTION.
