The Problem

We are trying to provide a better education for children around the world by teaming up with other organizations that help to improve schools, raise money for our organization of the year and help keep kids around the world in school. This year we are teaming up with an organization called ROW KIDS and going to Belize for ten days with about twelve college students and working on a small school in a rural village of San Ignacio, Belize. The village is Billy White and ROW KIDS has been working on their school system for about six years now. Improving and adding classrooms for the kids along with improving the curriculum so the kids can pass their exit exam to continue on with school, and improving the teacher’s houses and creating a better school system for the whole community.

Plan of Action

Our plan of action at the University is to team up with a program every year that deals with helping to improve kid’s education around the world. We attempt to make this trip free for whoever wants to volunteer so in order to do that we have to fund raise, bring awareness to our cause and to our new program. The "Quest for Edvancement" group has not made an impact YET, because this is our first year starting; but the organization that we have teamed up with this year, ROW KIDS, has already made a tremendous impact. They have sent over 34 students to the next level of school in Belize, have had about 35 of their students find a well paying jobs, have gotten the small Billy White village school up to grade so students can pass their exit and entrance exams, and also before ROW KIDS was established in Billy White there was no known student to have graduated before and now every year we have about 90% of the grade graduate every year. ROW KIDS is also established in six other villages in Belize and has also grown to working in four other countries: Guatemala, Jamaica, Panama and the Dominican Republic.
