The Problem
Our project is directed specifically to adults with disabilities. The barrier that inspired this program was that this population in our area do not have a performing arts outlet in which they can tell their stories.
Plan of Action
Right now our group is meeting twice a week, for 2 hours each meeting. We focus on storytelling, improv acting, comedic and dramatic interpretation with a focus on each individual's unique avenue of storytelling. We also study music and dance as forms of expression and entertainment.
We have performed one production thus far, and were nearly able to sell out that show! Our 9 participants, and 8 volunteers were able to perform before an audience of nearly 300!
