The Problem

I ask what kind of world do you want to live in? We have choices on how we behave and where we spend our time. The problem we are trying to solve is so many of the messages we hear everyday are negitive and discouraging. It seems like people don't care about their behavior or about how we treat one another. We are hoping to change that. We want to teach and inspire kids and teenagers to be kind and considerate of others around them and take responsibility for their actions. To give back to their community and this is one of the reasons why we started our club, Pay It Forward and our Random Acts of Kindness Day. To encourage everyone to have an attitude of "less ME, more WE". I feel it is our responsibility to make a positive influence in our society. With our Random acts of Kindness Day we are hoping to combine the efforts of many that, in turn, will create a positive change for Moorpark. With the collective power of positive thoughts and actions, we can truly make a difference. Here is a link to our Facebook page, PayIt Forward. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000833016587

Plan of Action

I am only one person but if I can inspire others to follow our lead then we are bigger than just ourselves. Last year we held our first Random Acts of Kindness Day at our high school. It was so successful that we went to our City Council and proposed that this be an "official day" acknowledged by our community. We were given a proclamation that March 11, 2010 was our 1st Random Acts of Kindness Day and it was recognized citywide. My plan of action and goal for next year are to have this day be distinguished by the County of Ventura. Ultimately, I would love for this day to be nationally recognized and not just for a day but a whole month. Similar to Breast Cancer Awareness Month,(which also just started as an idea too). My desire is that this concept will spread and grow globally and create a friendly, more healthy and positive place for us all to coexist.
