Reach Music Festival 2009:
This years Festival will be held on January 9th, 10th in Oyster Creek Park. The event will encompass family accessible music, display local arts, and houses a drive-in movie view area to promote awareness for causes and provide family entertainment.
The music portion of the event has drawn acts from the local area, all around the country and the world for that matter, which has been made possible by partners like Dart Music International. With over 30 musicals group the festival is has a lot of to offer.
Local Youth Involvement:
In past years we have had the involvement of over 300 local Fend Bend and HISD high school students, and are looking forward to making that number grow. We are also expanding our efforts integrate the arts this year by allowing local high student to showcase their art during the event.
The festival’s newest addition to this year’s event is film. In Lost Creek Park there will be a Drive-In that will serve as a viewing area for films. This will showcase a line up of documentaries, family films, classics, and a local film competition which will be judged by the event attendees. The screen will also be a way for local businesses to promote their business in conjunction with a great cause.
We are looking to draw 15,000 in attendance over a two day period,. Our goal is to raise $200,000 for the MDA and other social issues with year’s festival. Ways we will do this is the involvement of the Sugar Land and Houston business community, with companies like Tara Energy sponsoring the event. We would like to see this event be one of the largest, well managed events in the City of Sugar Land. Drawing people all around the Houston area to enjoy, interact, and give in our city.
The Spirit behind Reach Out is making investments in the youth of your community will open all kinds of doors for the next generation of leaders to achieve new heights. This is what we are asking you to do again by supporting what this festival has been building for 3 years now.
