The Problem

Rebuild_Haiti is trying to accomplish just that, rebuilding a destroyed Haiti. Currently over 1.5 million Haitians are homeless and many are living in tent cities that are densely packed and can create problems of disease spread and such. Living without houses, beds, clean water, food, really a livelihood, most of these people are having a hard time getting back to normal life, and it won't for quite some time.

Plan of Action

Rebuild_Haiti is trying to work with multiple companies who together can make a big difference by building sustainable temporary housing, providing sustainable electricity and also providing agriculture to lessen then strain on food needed. Our goal is to use modified used shipping containers, that are in abundance, as housing along with solar technology such as the Solar System used by Duron Energy and/or possibly with First Solar, a large international photovoltaic company here in Arizona. SEED along with their plans for building have also been working on landscaping and agriculture along with temporary sanitation and water. All of this will be implemented into the communities while cleanup from the aftermath is going on along with the rebuilding of what is being called Haiti 2.0. We are also working with groups Tempohousing and Containercity who hav already built many large buildings for everything dormitories for students to music recording studios and we feel their knowledge of not only using shipping containers to build sustainable housing would be a great fit but also they have experience in sanitation, water, electricity, etc.
