The community I am helping is a town in Rwanda that I worked and lived in this past October and November. They live one of the poorest countries in the world. I recently worked with 300 students at this preschool teaching them math and English. I have never met children with such a desire and longing to learn, children who will fight for an education. The people in this community welcomed me into their homes and their lives and loved me as their own. Unfortunately upon returning to America I received the news that the preschool I worked at is getting shut down by the government becuase of the poor building conditions. These 300 children, and their families, need this school. Most of t hem already walk miles and miles to get to school, without this school some will have to walk farther, and some will not be able to attend school at all.
