I want to help the Rosebud Reservation with the solid waste problem. On the Native American Reservations the main solution to our problem is learning how to recycle. Most people do not want to recycle because they think someone is going to judge them worng, but truely on the reservations is someone else is doing something its more likely that another will pick it up. Being apart of the National Honor Society, we are starting small. Every classroom in the school as a recycling box, which is emptied every week and recycled. Recycling every Wednesday, before and after school, letting the other students see what we are doing, they are starting to catch on and throw their trash in the waste paper baskets. Annually our tribe celebrates Unci Maka, which means Grandmother Earth. Everyone, and anyone willing to participate is welcome to help clean up the reservation. We also plant trees to improve and purify out beautiful land.
