The Problem
The objective of this proposal is to provide for the Morgan Hill
Presbyterian Church a recycling center. This would replace the very
inconvenient barrels that presently act as a means to recycle plastic
bottles, aluminum cans and glass containers.
There is a need to provide convenient access so recyclables can be
deposited easily. The present location is behind the garbage bin and is not
very accessible. The location could be moved across the drive way and
placed along the side of the small office building.
In the long term, the church will benefit due to the revenue of the recyclable products that will build up overtime. This revenue can be used to pay back the money borrowed from the church’s Mission Fund (where the funds for the project will come from), but it will also help Morgan Hill Presbyterian Church with funds for outreach in the community.
Plan of Action
This project will not be too expensive, but in a total estimated (rounded) cost, the amount will be under $600. The church is willing to donate $450 to spend on material, supplies, and tools, and the rest can be taken care of by fundraising. The total amount that will be needed to fundraised will therefore be around $150. Letters will be sent out to the surrounding businesses asking if they will be willing to donate supplies, materials, tools, or funds to the project. Also, if need be, letters will be sent out to members of the community so that any costs leftover may be taken care of.
The church will be donating money for the construction of the sheds for the recycling center, but this money will in turn be returned to the church. It will have the ability to take the recyclables to the appropriate disposal sites for CRV. This money will in turn pay back the initial payment, and the money that will be further raised can be used as Missions Funds, General Funds, or other funds for the church to use.
Here are some important plans for building the recycling center:
Buying of Materials
Cementing desired area of implantation
Building panels
Putting panels together to form sheds
Painting sheds
Installing sheds
